Important Message Regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Dear Patients, Guardians and Caregivers,
The new Coronavirus known as COVID-19 is of great concern to all of us. We are experiencing a pandemic with COVID-19 but wish to assure you that the Charles Evans Center is taking all necessary steps to keep you and your families safe.
If you have questions that need to be answered we are providing 24/7 access to one of our clinicians. Please also know that we continue to maintain strict Infection Control practices in our offices, and we are conducting a COVID-19 screening on every person that presents to one of our facilities.
For those patients who are experiencing fever, shortness of breath, persistent cough and body aches, we are here to evaluate you. Persons with severe symptoms will be referred to an emergency department where COVID – 19 testing can be conducted. If you have an illness or injury unrelated to those symptoms, we are certainly here for you as well. Of note, we expect in the near future to have the ability to conduct COVID – 19 testing at our site.
Patients experiencing mild cold/flu symptoms who are seeking to rule out coronavirus will not be tested at this time. Instead of visiting the Charles Evans Center under these circumstances, we strongly encourage you to take the following steps to get healthy and protect your family and loved ones:
- Stay Home
- Isolate Yourself. Really – don’t go out.
- Treat with over-the-counter medicines (discuss with your doctor first)
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Wash your hands well with soap and water and avoid touching your face
- Continue with this regimen until you feel healthy
There is much misinformation and understandable concern about COVID-19. For the very latest facts on what is happening, and how you can prepare and protect yourself and your family we encourage everyone to visit the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) dedicated website for COVID-19: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/summary.html or visit our website at https://www.charlesevanscenter.org
We will get through this together and thank you for trusting us with your care and questions.
